After Dark: Swing the Night Away

Join us this coming Valentine’s Day, Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, for the return of our fan-favorite event, After Dark: Swing the Night Away! The event takes place from 6-10 p.m. at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force™. Try your hand (or should we say feet) at swing dancing on the dance floor. Enjoy the swingin’ sounds of ‘Victory Canteen,’ A Tribute to the Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band, as performed by the Tom Daugherty Orchestra.

Folks will also get a gander at artifacts not normally on display, plus enjoy themed open aircraft, trivia with prizes, games, food, and cash bars. Kiss your Valentine under the wings of history. No special someone this year? No problem. Enjoy a beverage with your favorite aircraft and friends.

After Dark events are for adults only (ages 21+). Tickets for Swing the Night Away are $45. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the event will run from 6-10 p.m.

Celebrating Aviation: Eagle Squadron Recognition

On Monday, March 9, join us as the Royal Air Force presents the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force with a plaque commemorating the Eagle Squadron for their support in the Battle of Britain. James Normington, a former Royal Air Force Officer, and Dr. Douglas Lantry, NMUSAF Historian, will share the history of the Eagle Squadron.

The evening will conclude with a presentation and formal dedication of the plaque honoring the Eagle Squadron by a representative of the British Embassy to AFMC Commander, LtGen Hurry. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Air Force Museum Theatre, with seating beginning at 6 p.m. Ticketholders are welcome to arrive at 5:30 p.m. to visit the exhibits in the first building regarding the Eagle Squadron and the World War II Gallery.

Tickets are $25 each.

An exhibit featuring dinosaurs.

The Air Force Museum Foundation funds special exhibits to attract visitors who might not otherwise visit the Museum. Previous special exhibits include OceanXperience by Flying Fish Exhibits, Discover Steampunk by Imagine Exhibitions, and Dinosaurs in Motion by Imagine Exhibitions. While not specifically aviation-focused, these special exhibits introduce audiences of all ages to a variety of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) concepts.

If your organization is interested in sponsoring an exhibit, we would love to hear from you. Please contact us for more information.
